As part of the Teachers’ Day events on November 24, the Department of Painting Graduate Students from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts organized a Painting and Sculpture Exhibition at our university.
The event was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Turgay Uzun, Osmaniye Deputy Mayor Hulusi Akkuş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Zafer Tombul, Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Selçuk Okumuş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Coşkun Özalp, Provincial Treasurer Emin Temiz, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceyhun Yükselir, as well as many guests and students.
The opening speeches of the Painting and Sculpture Exhibition and Music Recital were delivered by Vice Dean Dr. Lecturer Necmettin Yağcı from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine Arts, and Rector Prof. Dr. Turgay Uzun.
Vice Dean Dr. Lecturer Necmettin Yağcı began his speech by conveying the greetings of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Osman Altıntaş, and provided information about the exhibition and the recital.
Expressing his appreciation for the Faculty’s efforts in preparing the event, Rector Prof. Dr. Turgay Uzun stated:
“Since the foundation of our university, we have organized numerous artistic and scientific activities that have made significant contributions to education and academic life. As OKÜ, we are proud to have a strong and dynamic academic staff. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our faculty has continued its work with great dedication. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, I sincerely congratulate all our faculty members and instructors for their efforts and devotion.”
Rector Uzun continued:
“Our university is one of the important higher education institutions of the Republic of Turkey. We remain committed to Atatürk’s principles and reforms, continuing on the path he has drawn for us. As Atatürk profoundly stated, ‘The new generation will be the work of teachers.’ With this awareness, we will continue our research, development, and educational activities with the same motivation, enthusiasm, and team spirit. I wish everyone a happy Teachers’ Day.”
Following the opening speeches, a concert was performed by students of the Music Department under the direction of pianist Lecturer Ahmet Can Çakal and Assistant Conductor Res. Asst. Ahmet Korkmaz.
The program concluded with a tour of the exhibition by Rector Prof. Dr. Turgay Uzun, Osmaniye Deputy Mayor Hulusi Akkuş, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Zafer Tombul, Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Selçuk Okumuş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Coşkun Özalp, Provincial Treasurer Emin Temiz, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceyhun Yükselir, and many guests and students.
