Exchange programs are programs that aim to bring different cultures together on academic and social grounds by strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions. Student, academic and staff exchange programs conducted by Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, Foreign Relations Office include various studies and projects such as joint seminar and conference studies, joint courses and multidisciplinary events. |
Within our department, the Farabi Program is offered as part of national exchange initiatives. Our students, academic staff, and administrative personnel can benefit from these exchange opportunities provided by our university. The department supports the domestic mobility of outgoing and incoming students, academics, and staff through these programs. Within the scope of such mobility, applicants may visit another university via the exchange opportunities offered by our university and engage in knowledge sharing related to their education, academic work, or field of expertise.

| What is the Farabi Exchange Program? | ||||||

The Student and Faculty Member Exchange Program among Higher Education Institutions, briefly called the "Farabi Exchange Program", is a student and faculty member exchange program among higher education institutions providing associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education within the universities and high technology institutes. The Farabi Exchange Program aims to enable students or faculty members to continue their education and training activities in a higher education institution outside their own institution for one or two semesters. Students participating in the Farabi Exchange Program receive a non-refundable scholarship, and faculty members receive additional tuition payments.

| Who can participate in the Farabi Exchange Program? | ||||||
|
Associate degree, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students studying at higher education institutions providing formal education within the borders of Türkiye and all faculty members who are not in the administrative staff can benefit from the Farabi program. |

| Application Requirements for the Farabi Exchange Program | ||||||
|
Each student can benefit from Farabi once, for 1 or 2 semesters. Faculty members can apply for the exchange program as much as they want. Students' academic degrees must be 2.0/4 for associate and undergraduate degrees, and 2.5/4 and above for master's and doctorate degrees. Master's and doctoral students cannot benefit from the Farabi exchange during the preparatory, scientific preparation periods and the first term of the main education. |

| Who is Farabi? (870-950) |
|
Farabi was born in 870 in the city of Farab in Turkestan. He traveled to important centers of knowledge at the time, such as Bukhara, Baghdad, Damascus, Cairo, Harran and Aleppo. He wrote works in the fields of philosophy, mathematics, logic, political science and music. He has a great reputation in the Islamic world, comparable to Aristotle, who is called the First Teacher in the field of philosophy, and is known as the Second Teacher. He is known in the Western world as "Alpharabius". |
