The Department of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts organized a meaningful event in celebration of October 16, World Food Day.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Osman Altıntaş, first-year undergraduate students carried out still life studies featuring fruits and vegetables specific to the month of October as part of their Painting Studio Course.

During the event, students interpreted the seasonal richness of nature through an artistic perspective, enhancing both their powers of observation and their ability to create plastic values. The compositions produced with the colorful fruits and vegetables of October yielded remarkable results in terms of both form and color harmony.

Prof. Dr. Osman Altıntaş emphasized that such thematic practices increase students’ artistic awareness, highlighting the importance of drawing attention to sustainability, nature, and nutrition consciousness through art.

At the end of the event, the students’ works were exhibited and evaluated in the studio environment. The Department of Painting continues to encourage similar practices to foster both the technical skills and social awareness of its students.
