TERM REVIEW EXAM (TREX)

What?

The TREX is a comprehensive language exam designed to assess students’ overall progress in English at the end of each semester. It is an official part of the assessment system used in the English Preparatory Program.

How many?

The TREX is administered twice a year, once at the end of each semester, in both the fall and spring terms. This ensures that student progress is monitored and evaluated regularly.

Who?

All students enrolled in the Compulsory English Preparatory Program (CEPP) and Voluntary English Preparatory Program(VEPP)  are required to take the TREX exam as part of their academic evaluation.

Purpose

The main purpose of the TREX is to measure how well students have developed their English language skills over the semester. It also contributes significantly to the Yearly Achievement Grade (YAG), which reflects their academic performance throughout the year.

Scope

The exam covers key language areas including Reading Comprehension, Listening, Use of English (Grammar and Vocabulary), and a Writing task. These sections are based on the content and skills taught during the semester.
