The educational activities carried out within the School of Foreign Languages aim to develop the foreign language skills that students need in both their academic and social lives. In this context, three main educational activities are offered by our School: the Compulsory English Preparatory Program, the Voluntary English Preparatory Program, and the Compulsory Foreign Language Courses. Through these programs, students are expected to gain the language skills necessary to support their academic studies as well as to communicate effectively in daily life.
| Compulsory English Preparatory Program (CEPP) |
Our School offers the Compulsory English Preparatory Program for students who will study in the departments of English Language and Literature and English Translation and Interpreting, where the medium of instruction is English. The program aims to equip students whose language level is below the required proficiency level with the language skills necessary to follow their departmental courses successfully. | Voluntary English Preparatory Program (VEPP) |
The Voluntary English Preparatory Program is offered for students who will study in departments where the medium of instruction is Turkish. The aim of this program is to help students develop the basic English skills required for everyday communication as well as the foundational language skills needed for academic English. | Common English Courses (CEN) |
The Common English Courses (English I and English II), which are mandatory for students enrolled in departments where the medium of instruction is Turkish, are also planned and conducted by the School of Foreign Languages. Click here for detailed information about the courses. |
