Exchange programs are programs that aim to bring different cultures together on academic and social grounds by strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions. Student, academic and staff exchange programs conducted by Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, Foreign Relations Office include various studies and projects such as joint seminar and conference studies, joint courses and multidisciplinary events. |

Our faculty includes Erasmus and Mevlana programs within the scope of international exchange programs. Our students, academicians and staff can benefit from these exchange programs offered by our university. Our faculty supports the international mobility of outgoing and incoming students, academicians and staff with these programs. Within the scope of these mobilities, applicants can benefit from the exchange programs offered by our university and visit someone from a different country and share information about their education, academic work or field. |

What is the Mevlana Exchange Programme? |
|
The Mevlana Exchange Program is a program that enables the exchange of students and faculty members between higher education institutions providing education in Türkiye and higher education institutions providing education abroad. The Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated August 23, 2011 and numbered 28034 paved the way for the exchange of students and faculty members between higher education institutions abroad and higher education institutions in our country. Unlike other exchange programs, the mobility within the exchange program covers all higher education institutions in the world without any geographical region distinction. |

Students who want to participate in the exchange program can benefit from the program for a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters of education; and faculty members can benefit from the program for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 3 months to teach at higher education institutions around the world. Similarly, students and faculty members from all parts of the world can come to higher education institutions in Türkiye. |
Who can participate in the Mevlana Exchange Program? |
|
Associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students enrolled in formal education programs in all higher education institutions in Türkiye (higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol) can participate in student exchange within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program. |
|
In addition, all academic staff working in domestic and foreign higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol can also participate in the Mevlana Exchange Program. Academic activities of academic staff within the scope of mobility cannot be less than six hours per week. The hours of activities performed by academic staff are calculated based on lessons. If the lesson hours do not exceed six hours per week, academic activities such as seminars, panels or conferences are also evaluated within this scope. Academic staff mobility plans that do not include teaching activities cannot be evaluated within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program and cannot be accepted for exchange. |
Application Conditions for Mevlana Exchange Programme |

The basic conditions for becoming a Mevlana Exchange Program student can be gathered under several headings: |

The student must be an associate, undergraduate, graduate or doctoral student registered in higher education programs that provide formal education, |
|
Associate and undergraduate students must have a general academic grade point average of at least 2.5 (two and a half) out of 4 (four), |
|
The general academic grade point average of master's and doctoral students must be at least 3 (three) out of 4 (four), |
|
50% language score + 50% GPA, |

Note |
Students studying in the preparatory and first year of associate and undergraduate programs, and master's and doctoral students in the preparatory and scientific preparation periods cannot benefit from this program for the first semester they start their main education. |
How should a person who wants to benefit from the Mevlana Exchange Programme and meets the prerequisites apply? |
|
Students can apply to the Mevlana Exchange Programme institution coordination office of the higher education institution they are registered in Türkiye by completely filling out the necessary forms, which can be accessed from the website https://mevlana.yok.gov.tr/. |
|
All academic staff working in higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Programme Protocol can also apply to the relevant Mevlana Exchange Programme institution coordination office. |
How many times and for how long can we benefit from the Mevlana Exchange Programme? |
|
Students can benefit from the Mevlana Exchange Programme for a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters. Although the semester calculation may vary depending on the education system, the total exchange period cannot exceed one academic year. |
|
ÖThe mobility period of academic staff in the Mevlana Exchange Programme can be a minimum of one week and a maximum of three months, once within an academic year. |
Does a student who wants to benefit from the Mevlana exchange program pay tuition fee to the institution he/she goes to? |
|
Students only continue to pay the contribution or tuition fees that they are obliged to pay to the formal higher education institutions they are registered to during the period they are Mevlana Exchange Programme students. They do not pay any additional tuition fees to the higher education institution they will go to within the scope of the exchange programme. |
Will a student who participates in the program lose a semester? |
|
A student who participates in the Mevlana Exchange Program and studies in a country outside the borders of Türkiye will not lose any semester when he/she returns to his/her country, as the course or courses taken at a higher education institution abroad will be considered equivalent to which are clearly specified in the Learning Protocol. |
Scholarships During the Mevlana Exchange Programme: Matters related to students |
|
Students participating in the Mevlana exchange program continue to receive other scholarships and loans during their education, and they continue to pay the contribution fee/tuition fee that they are obliged to pay by registering to their own higher education institution, and they do not pay any additional tuition fees to the higher education institution they will attend. |
|
The amount of scholarship to be paid to students during their participation in the exchange program varies according to the economic life standards of the country where the students go for education. Within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program, a scholarship Mevlana Exchange Program student may be paid a scholarship of up to three times the monthly scholarship amount paid to undergraduate students according to Law No. 5102 on Granting Scholarships and Credits to Higher Education Students, at rates determined by the YÖK Executive Board. |

Within the scope of the exchange program, students coming from different geographies of the world to higher education institutions in Türkiye are also paid scholarships at the rates determined by the YÖK Executive Board. In payments to be made to students, 70% of the scholarship amount is paid in monthly installments. The payment of the remaining scholarship amount is made based on the ratio of the total credits of the courses the student is required to take to the total credits of all the courses he is required to take. |

If the resources allocated to the higher education institution for the exchange are insufficient, the student may be able to exchange through his/her own means or through private scholarships, provided that the other conditions of the Program are met. |
Scholarships during the Mevlana Exchange Programme: Issues related to academic staff |
|
Within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program, academic staff to be sent abroad may be paid a travel allowance in accordance with the provisions of the Travel Allowance Law No. 6245, while academic staff coming from abroad may be paid a travel allowance in accordance with the Law No. 6245 and an additional course fee in accordance with Article 10 of Law No. 2547. The YÖK Executive Board is authorized to determine the additional course fee by country and title. |

Who is Mevlana? |
The real name of Mevlana, who gave his name to the program, is Muhammed Celaleddin. Mevlana was born in 1207 in the city of Belh in the Khorasan region, which is within the borders of Afghanistan today. The name Mevlana was used by Sultan Veled, Shams-i Tabrizi and his followers; it has become a universal symbol that is almost identified with him. He is also known as Rumi by Westerners. |
Mevlana, who lived in the 13th century but was a Sufi who transcended the ages with his works, did not discriminate between people, as reflected in his verses, "Come, come whoever you are." With his compassion, his unconditional and limitless love for humanity, as well as his infinite tolerance, he has impressed not only the Islamic world but all of humanity. He is also accepted all over the world as a man of ideas with his perspective on life and people. UNESCO declared 2007 as the Year of Mevlana and Tolerance due to the 800th anniversary of Mevlana's birth. |
Throughout his education, he visited educational institutions in different countries and cities of the period both as a student and as a scientist. "Change" has an important place in Mevlana's life and philosophy. He is also the author of important works such as Mesnevi, Divan-ı Kebir, Fihi Mafih, Mektubat and Mecalis-i Seba. |
