The main aim of the course is to consider the family as a system and to teach basic family counseling theories and to gain basic family counseling skills. In this course, students learn the basic concepts of family and the systemic approach. Students learn basic family counseling/therapy theories and approaches such as structural family therapy, strategic family therapy, and experiential family therapy. Within the scope of the course, subjects such as family life cycle, couple counseling, divorce counseling, divorce mediation, domestic abuse are also covered. Students who successfully complete this course will have basic knowledge of family counseling theory and practice and learn about important periods and events in the family life cycle.

The aim of this course is to teach the alphabet, basic vocabulary and grammatical structures of Turkish Sign Language and to enable the students who take the course to communicate with the hearing impaired through this language. In this course, the student gets general information about Turkish Sign Language. He learns the alphabet, basic sentence structures, yes-no questions, negative sentences, questions related to time and time, numbers, question words, and words such as colors, emotions, food-drinks and clothing, and practices plenty of examples in the classroom. The student learns basic sign language and how to communicate with the hearing impaired by translating in this language.
