TUBITAK 2209-A Achievement by Physics Department Students
Students from the Department of Physics at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University, have been awarded TÜBİTAK support for their innovative project contributing to environmental sustainability.
The research project titled “Enhancement of Photocatalytic Properties of Titanium Dioxide Nanomaterial on Fuchsin Dye”, conducted by Hilal Ödaş as the project coordinator and Zeliha Dağ as the researcher, has been selected for funding under the 2024 First Term of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A – Research Projects Support Program for Undergraduate Students.
The project aims to eliminate organic dyes—one of the major causes of water pollution—through the photocatalysis method. Within this scope, the photocatalytic degradation performance of titanium dioxide (TiO₂)-based nanomaterials on fuchsin dye is being experimentally investigated. The study also aims to promote the use of renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly chemicals.
The scientific supervision of the project is carried out by Dr. Nazmi Sedefoğlu, a faculty member of the Department of Physics.
Project Coordinator: Hilal Ödaş
Researcher: Zeliha Dağ
Advisor: Dr. Nazmi Sedefoğlu
Institution: Osmaniye Korkut Ata University
We sincerely congratulate our students and their academic advisor on this valuable achievement and wish them continued success.
