Our Mission

The program's mission is primarily to develop students' constructive and creative powers through disciplined observation, their intuition, the foundation of creativity, and their ability to interpret objects and their relationships. It also provides training in Traditional Turkish Arts that will equip them with the necessary culture and practical application to understand the nature of arts and the logic of visual thought. Within the scope of the program, students will learn fundamental production techniques across many areas of Traditional Turkish Arts, gaining an in-depth knowledge of the historical, cultural, and technical dimensions of these arts. Past applications and present-day reflections of these techniques will be examined with a theoretical and practical approach, enabling students to grasp the dynamics of art production.

The program aims to provide students with practical experiences in workshops and laboratories, cultivating competence in material processing and technical applications. Furthermore, courses focused on conservation and restoration aim to equip students with knowledge about the preservation and restoration of our cultural heritage. These courses will equip students with the skills to actively contribute to the process of passing cultural heritage on to future generations.

All of these achievements will enable students to consider Traditional Turkish Arts not only as an art discipline but also as a cultural heritage and to act with responsibility to both protect and develop this heritage.
