Advisory Service
It is the service provided for the users to access the information they need in the fastest and most accurate way in order to enable them to use information sources effectively.
Purpose of Advisory Service
To inform the users about the use of printed and electronic resources, to determine the resources for the information needs of all kinds of user groups that the library serves, to direct the users to the relevant resources, and to provide training and consultancy support when necessary.
To introduce the services, usage rules and collection of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Library; to organize library orientations according to user groups in order to teach how to make use of this collection and use the resources effectively.
Library Orientation
It is offered with different content for undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students, external users and special guests. While new students are introduced to the general library collection, catalog search, collection usage and rules, master and doctorate students are provided with training on the use of databases.
In the Advisory Unit;
below services are carried out:
- General introduction of the library, web page presentation, web page transactions (catalog search, extension, book order, special login, etc.),
- To assist researchers in their studies and to provide access to information by searching for resources together when necessary,
- Promotion and effective use of library resources through educational and promotional activities at various content and levels,
- Organizing in-service training programs to assist in the use of library material,
- Conducting bibliography scans, announcing new publications and providing information services,
- Preparing and implementing various research methods in order to measure the satisfaction of users,
- Conducting interlibrary loan (ILL) services,
- Announcing the opening of new subscriptions to trial access, providing user training, developing policies to maintain user statistics and use them efficiently in order to ensure the efficient use of electronic databases.
Answering inquiries from inquiries and face-to-face consultation via phone, instant messaging, e-mail.
