Who can benefit from your library?
Our library serves Osmaniye Korkut Ata University students, academic and administrative staff and users coming from outside the university. Library resources are not lent to users from outside the university. However, they can photocopy the required part of the material they want.
How can I borrow material from the Library?
In order to receive borrowed publications, you must first become a member of the Library. Students and staff of our university can become members of the Library. Academic, administrative staff, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students can become members by showing their IDs and filling out the member form.
Users who want to borrow materials must show their “Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Identity Card.. OKU ID card is normally a library member card. It is mandatory to borrow any material removed from the Library. All borrowed materials must be returned on time or extended. Materials returned by another reader will not be extended.
How to access the materials in the Library?
The books were placed in an open shelf according to the LC (Library of Congress) classification system. In this system, alphabetical letters are used for the main subjects. Shelves have the necessary orientations.
How to scan an online (On-Line) catalog?
Scanning terminals are located in the library reading room. The catalog can be searched from any computer with internet connection, either inside or outside the university, via the “Catalog Search” link on the Library website. First, the searched material (books, magazines, etc.) is scanned from the library program. The user can check whether the material is in the library. He can check if he can borrow this material before going to the shelf. If the material is borrowed, it can see the return date on the computer. It also has access to the volume / copy information of the publication.
How is the extension of the borrowed publications in the Library?
If you do not have a new request for the publications you have received from our library (who makes a reservation), you can extend the period of three days before you return the publication by entering your Member number and password through the Extension link on the Library Online Link on our website.
What are the loan periods and rights according to users?
Different user groups have different borrowing rights. The widely used ES ALES, LES, ÜDS, DGS books and novels “are loaned for 15 days.
Undergraduate and Associate Degree (Vocational School) students for 15 days 5 Books
Master and Ph.D. 30 days 10 books
Administrative staff 5 books for 15 days
Academic staff can receive 10 books for 30 days.
Which materials are not borrowed?
Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Newspapers, periodicals, theses, rare works, CDs, DVDs, reference sources are not borrowed.
What happens if the borrowed material is not returned in time?
Daily non-refundable fee is charged for non-refundable materials. Delay amounts are re-determined for each academic year. Those who do not pay the delay cannot borrow materials until they have made the payment.
What happens when the borrowed material is lost?
In case of loss of a material; the lost material is provided by the user if it is available on the market. If there is no market, the list price and transaction fee is paid by the losing person.
How to use the periodical collection?
Periodicals are not borrowed. Must be used inside the library. The library provides photocopying facilities.
What to do if encountering a problem?
All you need to do is consult with the staff at the Application Desk. If the situation exceeds the application desk officer, it will direct the library manager.
