Turkish is the language of instruction at Osmaniye Korkut Ata University.
3- What are the conditions of acceptance for international students when applying to Osmaniye Korkut Ata University?
All applications will be accepted and evaluated on condition that the applicant has either completed or is in the final year of the high school, and has fulfilled the conditions listed below. If the candidate does not fulfill any of these conditions, the application will not be accepted.
Applications will be accepted from;
(1) the applicants who are currently enrolled as seniors in high schoolalready graduated from high-school, provided that he/she:
a. is a foreign national,
b. had natural born citizenship of Turkey but ceased to be a citizen of Turkey by the courtesy of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, and their minor children who are registered on the document indicating the release of Turkish Citizenship and who can certify that they hold an official document regarding the use of rights granted by Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5203,
c. is a dual national who is a natural born foreign national but taken TR citizenship afterwards,
d. is a Turkish citizen who has completed his/her entire high school education in a foreign country other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) (including those who have completed their whole high school education in a Turkish high school in a foreign country other than TRNC),
e. is a TRNC citizen residing in TRNC and has completed his/her high school education there and has taken GCE AL exam results,
f. is a TRNC citizen who has been enrolled in and educated at private schools or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010, and who has or will have GCE AL exam results.
Applications will not be accepted from;
(2) the applicants who have,
a. TR citizenship and completed their entire high education in Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,
b. TRNC citizenship (except for the ones who received education at private schools or high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010, and have or will have GCE AL exam results, and the ones who completed their high school education in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and have GCE AL exam results),
c. Dual nationalities with their first citizenship from TR as the natural born nationality that is defined in article 1-b. (and the ones who completed their entire high school education in a foreign country other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus / except for the ones who completed their entire high school education in Turkish Schools in foreign countries other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus),
d. Dual nationalities, one of which is TRNC citizenship (except for the ones who received education at private schools and high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010, and have or will have GCE AL exam results, and the ones who completed their high school education in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and have GCE AL exam results)
e. TR citizenship or dual nationality, with first citizenship from TR with the natural born nationality that is defined in article 1-b and received education in schools within Turkish embassies and foreign high schools in Turkey.

Osmaniye Korkut Ata University does not hold the examination of YÖS.
8- My documents are Arabic/Russian/Chinese/... Do I have to get them translated into Turkish ?
The documentsmust be translated into Turkish. If the student is accepted, the originals of the documents will be requested with their ceritfied Turkish translation.
9- Does Osmaniye Korkut Ata University provide support for visa procedures of international students?
Following placement, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University will arrange and send the admission letter to the mail address specified in your application. It is expected that you will obtain visa with the admission letter.
10- Does your university authorize any educational institution abroad to direct students?
Yes. For example, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University authorize an educational institution called Bilik Tedris Center in Baku,Azerbaijan, to direct students.
11- What are periods of education for the programs?
Associate : 2 years
Undergraduate : 4 years
12- Can I work during my education in Turkey?
Persons who are not Turkish citizens are not allowed to work in Turkey, even if they are students.

15- When is the exact registration date and what are the procedures ?
Students who are successful in their application must make their registrations the dates listed in the academic calendar. The required documents for exact registration are written in the Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Directive on the Selection and Placement of International Students on Associate and Bachelor's Degree Programmes. Applicants must include all the required documents, otherwise they will not be accepted.
16- What is Turkish Proficiency Examination?
Students who do not have certificate of TOMER will attend Turkish Language Placement Test which will be held by Osmaniye Korkut Ata University in order to certify their level of Turkish Language. The students who succeed in the exam will start education. The ones that fail will start their one year education at TOMER in order to improve their Turkish competence. The students who can not still ensure their Turkish Language Level at the end of one year lose their right to be registered to Osmaniye Korkut Ata University.
17- How is the level of tuition fees for international students decided?
Decisions regarding the tuition fees are made by the Osmaniye Korkut Ata University Senate. Fees cannot be set at a level which is higher than the ‘student current service costs’, which are determined annually by the Council of Ministers. Students pay tuition fees at the beginnig of each academic semester.
18- Are international students permitted to participate in international exchange programmes?
International students are permitted to participate in international exchange programs (Mevlana, Erasmus, Farabi).
19- Does Osmaniye Korkut Ata University provide accommodation to all students?
Osmaniye Korkut Ata University does not provide accomodation. It is the responsibility of each student to provide accomodation.
