Desiderius Erasmus Kimdir? |

The course focuses on the history of administration in Turkey during the Ottoman Empire period. It is evident that the structure of administration and organization cannot be presented independently from economic, social, and political processes. In this context, the course will create a thematic integrity in which the administrative center is analyzed in relation to other structural elements. The origins of administration in Turkey will be discussed through the influences of Islam, the Seljuks, Roman heritage, and other factors, explaining the formation of the Ottoman Classical Period and focusing on its main administrative mechanisms. This period will be compared with other classical empires, and the “degeneration” and “disintegration” phases will be evaluated together with the concept of “modernization,” including the Tanzimat era. The course will conclude with an examination of the origins of the Republican reforms. |
