HISTORY OF OSMANİYE VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

Osmaniye  Vocational  School  was  founded  based  on  the  Ministry  of    National  Education  with  the document  16.07.1976  dated  and  320/4054  numbered  by  National  Education  Ministry,    Formal Higher  Education Department.  Education  began  in  three departments:  Electricity, Construction and Machinery  Construction  in a building which belongs to Osmaniye  Municipality  in the city center.  It merged with  Çukurova University  with  04.01.1981 dated and 2547 numbered  of  Higher Education Law.  Osmaniye  Vocational  School  merged  with  Osmaniye  Korkut  Ata  University  which  was founded based upon    84th additional paragraph  of  5662 numbered law  that was  come  into the force in the Official Paper dated 29.05.2007 and numbered 26536.The 369 decare  pasture  area  of  Fakıuşağı Village  was granted to  Vocational  School by converting the area as treasury on 20.12.1984. Later on, campus area was enlarged about 550 decare by granting the  treasury land    around the school.  The academic term  began  by  moving  to the  buildings which were constructed in Fakıuşağı Campus on 23 Feb.,1988. While doing physical substructure workings ,on the  other hand,  new programmes were opened to support  education in the region and country. The  school,  which  continued  its  development,  was  enlarged  almost  22.000  m²  closed  area  by constructing  education  buildings  and  workshops.  Vocational  School,  which  upgraded  its development with the library, restaurants, health center,a modern stadium  and several sports areas. It completed its substructure in large rate  and still continues to education with 103 personnel in total as46  academic  and  57  managery  personnel..  By  the  period  of  2008-2009  Fall  Term,  It  has  been continuing  the  education  with  2000  students  13  departments    in  total  ;  Comp.Technology  & Programming  Dept,  Environment  Protection  Dept,  Electricity  And  Energy  Department  .  Electronıcs  And Automatıon  Department.,  Archıtecture  And  Urban  Plannıng  Department  ,  Constructıon  Department ,Machınery  And  Metal  Technologıes  Department,  Textıle  Clothıng  and  Footwear    Department,  Motor Vehıcles And Transportatıon  Crafts  Department.  Admınıstratıon And Organısatıon Department,  Accountancy And Tax Department, Communication Services Departmentformal and informal.

Education & Teaching  period  is two years  in  pre-licence  programmes  in  Vocational School.  Turkish Industry  and  work  life  needs  the  technicians  and  Vocational  elements  who  have  the  modern information  donation  and  who  have  been  training.  The  students,  who  graduated  from    technical departments,  have  the  title  of  “technician”,  and  “vocational  element”  from    Economy  and administrative departments..
