Civil engineering is one of the oldest and most fundamental engineering disciplines in human history and is an indispensable field that directly affects the quality of life of societies, focusing on building sustainable cities, safe structures, and robust infrastructures. Our department, acting with this awareness, has adopted the main goal of educating modern, well-equipped, and responsible civil engineers that our country and the world need.
Today, civil engineering is not limited to the construction of buildings; it plays important roles in various fields such as sustainability, digitalization, energy efficiency, disaster management, and smart cities. In this context, our department prepares our students for real-world conditions with laboratory studies, field applications, projects, and internship opportunities with an educational approach that blends theoretical knowledge and practice. In addition, our strong academic staff aims to provide our students with scientific thinking and analytical perspective through current research projects carried out at undergraduate and graduate levels.
